My Project

The beginning of the school year can be stressful for everyone: students, their parents, & even teachers! From past experience many of my students have never been in a school setting before which also means parents are leaving their child with a stranger for the first time.

To ensure the transition to school is seamless, I want to find ways to alleviate stress for my families and make my students excited about school.

I have requested a few furniture items to help display curriculum materials and family photos in a more appealing way which is critical during Open House when families enter my classroom for the first time. This will make the classroom more inviting and, hopefully, make the room feel like a home away from home. I have also requested items to put in my treasure box to promote positive behaviors which is strongly utilized at the beginning of the year. Students will be able to visit the treasure box daily for the first couple of weeks to get them excited about coming to school. I cannot wait to meet my new class in the new school year!
