My Students

Do you remember those Sally, Dick, and Jane books? My students need materials that calls for integration of content into language arts and math to meet the requirements for Common Core State Standards.

I have 21 outgoing,enthusiastic, hard-working, young students who love to learn.

They love challenge, enjoy working together, encourage each other, and are very helpful. They are from different nationalities from around the world. They speak in different languages. We are a high poverty school and are eager to learn from day to day.

My Project

I have chosen a selection of books, games, and different center activities that are based on Reading and Language Arts and Math Common Core State Standards. The books and materials we have do not meet the Common Core Standards. These items will supply them with the appropriate materials needed to meet these standards. It will help them improve on state assessments in 1st grade and in future years. They need reading and math hands-on games, including whole-class partner games, to help with phonics, comprehension and math skills. The students use the hands-on materials to build and write CVC words, explore nonfiction text features, respond to high-interest and writing prompts, and much more.These activities are designed for small-group learning. Each center supports one of the 5 Common Core language standards.The journals let students develop reading comprehension skills--every day of the school year! They are designed to help children meet the Common Core State Standards.

The Exemplar text library features a wide range of texts of various genres and complexity use to support and challenge students.

My students need these reading, language arts, writing, and exemplar text for Common Core Reading,Language Arts, and math to help improve their skills to help them meet the Common Core State Standards.
