This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are future leaders, doctors, lawyers, mechanics, military members, and so much more.
Our students are a group of intelligent, underrated, pre-teens at a turning point in their lives, and they are our future.
With the right skills and knowledge, they could be the first in their families to graduate high school, attend college, and change the world.
Our students attend a lower-middle-class Title I elementary school. Where over ninety percent of our kids are considered to be at or below poverty level. These are some of the most creative kids because they have to be. They have so much to offer and will be the ones to make new advances in technology and inventions.
My Project
My students attend school in a very old school building with no windows and no natural light. Our lights are the old florescent lights that give some students headaches.
Help me give my students a breath of fresh air by providing these outdoor scenic light covers to place over our old dingy florescent lights.
Students really enjoying being able to look up at see many different outdoor scenes. It often helps them to regroup and to refocus and breaks them out of the 4 walls they sometimes feel stuck in.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
