Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an inner city school in Los Angeles. Our students are from various backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. Many of our students are English language learners (ELLs) with roots in Latin America. The neighborhood is currently changing, so we are developing a diverse population with many types of needs.

We are a STEM magnet that caters to unique and motivated students in Los Angeles.

Our children love to learn and constantly challenge us to meet their unique needs and ignite their passion for learning.

The school is 100 years old and we have multiple generations of students who have attended the school. Although the neighborhood is changing, many of the families remain the same.

My Project

After a year of learning online during the pandemic, we are scheduled to return to school in the following months. Masked students will return to school in small groups and will be seated at a safe distance from each.

To secure the safety of my students, I kindly request air purifiers that can provide cleaner air for breathing.

Once we return, we will be attending class daily. I am preparing now so that students can return to the safest environment possible.

The air purifiers will allow parents to feel more secure about the return of their children to school.
