Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a K to 5 Title 1 in a high needs area of a borough in New York. My students come from a wide range of cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds. Although many of my students are faced with economic and financial challenges, they are eager to learn and interested in gaining a greater understanding of the world through new experiences and educational methods.

They come to school each day motivated with the intention to learn and develop themselves in a dedicated educational setting.

They are active participants and use teamwork and compassion to come together in unity to strengthen their community in troubled times through food, toy and clothing drives. The passion and commitment to see change in their personal well-being and environment inspires all of those around them. With your generous donation, I have no doubt that these underprivileged students will gain an even greater understanding about how school and the continuation to develop skills will benefit them in the future and many of them will have a greater chance of continuing on to higher education.

My Project

Technology is becoming a way of life. Throughout the world, we see technology improving quality of life and helping people in ways that would have seemed like science fiction to previous generations. In today's world, students need to be educated in order to survive and strive as a contributing member of society. From engineering structures that hold up under uncertain adverse environments to designing and developing applications that create enjoyable leisure time, students in the upcoming generation will be faced with unforeseen challenges that this ever-changing and technologically centric world may present.

The LEGO EV3 robots will help my students learn about computer programming and its applications to engineering and robotic technology.

This can help them be ready to face the challenges that the future may bring. These robots will allow them to design, build and use programs to work collaboratively to solve real problems that people are facing today and may expect to face in the future.
