Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My class consists of 25 very inquisitive third grade students. Remote learning hasn't stopped their love for learning. One of their favorite parts of the day is listening to chapter book read-alouds. They also get really excited watching videos about the world.
My Project
In a regular classroom setting each child would have a book to hold and read. Together we'd look through the pages, highlight important parts, and make annotations as we discover. This isn't so easy (or nearly as fun) to do when reading on-line. This is why I'd love for each child to receive a few REAL books!
Having a real paperback book to hold and read is so much better than an on-line story.
We'll use the books to develop fluency and reading comprehension. We'll also use the stories to jump start our own creative writing skills!
