My Project

Early reading ignites creativity, sparks curiosity, and stimulates the imagination of young children. I would love to gift my reading intervention students with the gift of a book on their birthdays. These books would enable them to have books in their homes to read over and over again with their families. Giving students books as birthday gifts will foster a love of reading and an appreciation for books in my students. My goal for this project is to increase student achievement in literacy through access to self-selected books.

Early literacy plays a key role in enabling the kind of early learning experiences that research shows are linked with academic achievement, reduced grade retention, higher graduation rates, and enhanced productivity in adult life.
