Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom walk into my classroom full of energy and ready to learn. They are hungry for learning. Some of them can't wait to learn English. The other day I overheard one of them saying: "I can't wait to learn English". They are very enthusiastic about learning English. They love school and they love to learn.

My students come from different ethnic backgrounds.

Most of my school's population comes from homes where English is not their first language. Some of them are newcomers and speak little or no English. Because they are at different levels, they will benefit from getting new books for their classroom library.

My Project

Students will be using the magazines to work in small groups in the classroom and for homework as a follow-up. My students need to learn English and these books and magazines are very helpful as they offer the materials in color and with many pictures to help them understand what they're reading.

My students will benefit from all these materials because they will learn new words and concepts in English.

I also need different book levels as my students are learning English and they are at different levels. They will use these resources in the classroom as well as home.
