My Project

This grant seeks funding to support a STEM-focused rocket-building activity for 8th-grade students. This project will engage students in a hands-on, inquiry-based learning experience that integrates principles of physics, engineering, math, and technology. By building and launching their own model rockets, students will not only deepen their understanding of key scientific concepts but also develop critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

To engage 8th-grade students in a practical STEM activity that applies their classroom learning to real-world scenarios.

To deepen students' understanding of Newton’s Laws of Motion, aerodynamics, and the forces affecting flight.

To promote critical thinking, teamwork, and engineering design processes as students collaborate to build, test, and improve their rocket models.

To inspire students to pursue further education and careers in STEM fields by giving them a hands-on experience with engineering and aerospace concepts.

This project will spark students' interest in STEM disciplines and give them a hands-on experience that highlights the connections between science, math, and engineering. Through teamwork and problem-solving, students will also develop skills that will serve them well in any future academic or career path, especially in fields related to engineering and technology.
