My Students

Many of us cannot exist with our our smartphones/laptops. What amazing access to the world you hold in one little device. Daily this world is shut off to my students because we are limited to learning using only a white board. Help them reach the world through the power of technology.

My students live in a very tough neighborhood that is plagued with poverty and gang violence.

It is often hard for them to relate to a world outside their neighborhood because of this lack of exposure and experiences most of us, often take for granted. They are only 16 miles from the ocean yet many have never been given the opportunity to go visit. They love to learn and dream big of places and ways of life they see only on TV. Our school staff is amazing. The students and families know that each teacher goes above and beyond the call of duty to create authentic learning experiences. We work together as a community to help them reach their highest potential.

My Project

Your generosity will not just provide my classroom with the technology upgrade that it so desperately needs to make teaching new concepts easier. Your gift will singlehandedly be opening up a whole new world to them. This gift will allow my students, who have no control over their impoverished state, the access to dream bigger. I will daily use the projector and document camera to provide access to new ideas, and cultures of far away lands. As well as equip them with the skills they will need to be successful in this life.
