My Project

My students are eager learners who love stories and connecting with characters. In our classroom, we focus not only on academics, but also on helping students grow socially and emotionally. Books are one of the best ways for children to see themselves and others, to learn empathy, and to develop the skills they need to thrive in and outside of school.

I am requesting a collection of social-emotional learning (SEL) books that will help my students learn about self-awareness, managing emotions, building friendships, and resolving conflicts.

Stories open the door to important conversations, and having these books in our classroom library will allow me to use them during read-alouds, small group discussions, and quiet reading time.

By adding these books to our classroom, I will be able to create intentional lessons that promote self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. These resources will support students in learning how to better understand themselves, show kindness to others, and build a positive classroom community.

Together, we can help students not only become stronger readers, but also more compassionate people who are prepared for the future.
