My Project

Children learn through play, and games are wonderful platforms! When my kindergarten students play math, phonics, or social emotional games not only are they working on the targeted skills of the games such as letter recognition, counting, shapes, or sounds, but they are practicing important social skills. Games allow students to practice conversation, turn-taking, losing gracefully, and being a kind winner. These are skills that are important both for creating a harmonious classroom and for creating a well-rounded person.

With these different board games and pretend play items, my students will be able to continue to enhance their academic and social emotional skills.

I will run centers with these various board games and utilize pretend play items during their hearts desire time so to target my students who are struggling with specific skills, boost their confidence in a small-group setting, and help them grow socially.
