My Project

Thank you for considering our classroom project! As a second and third-grade teacher, I am consistently inspired by the incredible uniqueness of each of my students. They bring a vibrant mix of curiosity, creativity, and energy to our classroom every day. I love seeing how they approach new challenges with an open mind, whether it's solving a tricky math problem or figuring out how to work together on a group project.

We are seeking to fund a collection of resources to build a strong foundation for social-emotional learning (SEL) in our classroom.

These tools will help students navigate their feelings, make positive decisions, and build healthy relationships with their peers.

Scholastic News Sticky Situation Cards: These cards will provide a fun and engaging way for students to practice problem-solving and discuss how to handle difficult social situations.

Making Good Choices Match-Ups: This activity will help students learn to identify and understand the consequences of their actions. By matching behaviors with outcomes, they will develop a clear understanding of what it means to make responsible decisions.

Anger Management Toys and Emotion Plush Toys: We are requesting a variety of sensory tools, including calm balls and emotion toys, to provide students with healthy outlets for their feelings. These items will be used to create a calming corner, a safe space where students can go to self-regulate when they feel overwhelmed.

180 Days of Social-Emotional Learning: This curriculum will provide a structured and consistent approach to teaching vital social and emotional skills throughout the school year, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. I plan to use these activities during small-group instruction during common learning time (CLT).
