Growing as Mathematicians in 2nd Grade!

Help me give my students resources to help engage them in learning. I want to implement fun mathematics tasks to engage students in deeper thinking. These games and resources help create learner-centered, student-owned learning.

My Project

My incredible second graders in San Ramon, CA, are a fun and active group of 24 students, each with their own unique learning style. As they become more independent, I want to provide them with the right tools to take ownership of their learning and become strong mathematicians.

This project is designed to give students a variety of resources that meet their individual needs.

For my kinesthetic learners, hands-on tools like math games will make abstract concepts concrete and understandable. For those who need to work at their own pace, individual manipulatives will allow them to explore and build confidence. By providing these resources, we can support every student's learning style and help them build a love for math that will last a lifetime. I am also asking for high interest books for my students to add to my classroom library.
