My Project

Recess is such an important time each day for our kids! They bounce out of their classrooms, ready to run to find friends and engage in as many games as they can fit into the allotted time. They may feel like they are "playing", but they are really developing essential skills - teamwork, collaboration, patience, and more, as well as expending energy and building those muscles! As you can imagine, kids LOVE playing with balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, and more at recess and these items can rack up quite a bit of wear and tear. As we start this year, our recess supplies are very low.

We really need to refresh our collection of playground essentials to ensure that all kids have a chance to play, learn, and grow.

The wide variety of equipment from this project would make a huge difference for our students and would allow us to really expand the activities during recess and also in PE. I've included lots of open-ended equipment, such as a variety of balls, that can be used for so many different games that all children can participate in. Not only would this equipment impact our current student body, but I know we would take great care of everything so it can be enjoyed by incoming classes in the coming years as well.
