Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The requested equipment—batting helmets, agility cones, and batting screens—will have a meaningful impact on our 95 Storm girls’ softball team, ensuring they can practice safely and effectively. The batting helmets are critical for protection, especially against faster pitches, enabling players to approach each training with confidence and security. Agility cones will be used to run drills that enhance footwork, speed, and overall athleticism, essential for strong fielding and base-running skills. Batting screens will allow us to set up structured hitting practice safely, minimizing risks while allowing the girls to focus on building proper form and strength at the plate.

Our goal is to provide high-quality practices that not only develop our players' athletic skills but also cultivate teamwork, resilience, and self-confidence.

With this equipment, we can create dynamic training sessions where each girl feels well-equipped to grow as an athlete. Our practices will focus on building technical skills and empowering the players to believe in their abilities both on and off the field.

What makes these girls special is their determination and dedication, despite facing significant challenges in their lives. Growing up in tough neighborhoods, they encounter obstacles many people their age never have to face. Still, they arrive at practice excited and eager, viewing softball as an opportunity to learn, grow, and create positive change. Their passion and resilience make them not only outstanding players but also powerful examples of the impact that sport and teamwork can have on young lives.
