My Project

The game "9 Square in the Air" combines the games of volleyball and two square for an exciting, fast paced, and standards-based game for all ages. National and state Physical Education standards include striking with hands. Currently we meet these standards using the game of volleyball. Two-square is a popular activity out at recess that is initially taught in P.E.

This 9 Square in the Air set is adjustable by height so that it can be used with all ages.

The game promotes inclusive play for all skill levels and shuffles players which facilitates interactions with everyone playing the game.

Players stand in one of the nine elevated squares. The central square holds the "king" who serves the ball to any other square. Players must hit the ball up and out of their square into another player's square with a single hit. When a mistake is made, players rotate positions continually trying to reach the king position.

The Activity Pack turns the 9 Square in the Air game into a multi-functional game station for a wide range of physical education activities. The Activity Pack includes flying discs, adaptors for the legs, Velcro and fabric straps, additional PVC pipes, foam balls, hula hoops, and much more. The components of the Activity Pack will allow us to play additional games and activities using the 9 Square in the Air game setup.
