My Project

KMS scored 8% on the 8th-grade Mississippi State Math Test last year. We are off to a strong start this school year, with 64% proficiency on the Term 1 Benchmark, the highest in the Jackson Public School District for 8th Grade Math.

Students must be rewarded for their progress in order to keep the momentum going.

They will be rewarded for small classroom victories and lightbulb moments, as well as PL growth as they work toward proficiency with prize box items.

I keep track of each student's progress from Term 1 to Term 4 in a Data Collection binder. We have one-on-one data chats at the beginning and end of each term so they can choose their math growth goal and discuss how to get there.

I can appeal to all students by offering a wide range of prizes. Croc charms will be a great motivator as well as snacks for my students who love to wear their Crocs (in sport mode, of course). I'm very excited to implement this system this school year, and I couldn't do it without your help.
