it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The goal of this project is to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment by providing resources that promote sensory regulation and enhance both fine and gross motor skills. These tools are designed to support students in general education settings who may benefit from additional resources to succeed, even if they do not qualify for specialized services.
The library of resources will give educators access to a variety of tools and strategies that can be used to support sensory needs, promote motor development, and enhance overall well-being.
Fidget tools and calming items are designed to help students manage their sensory needs, improving concentration without disrupting others. The goal is to encourage self-awareness and responsibility, empowering students to recognize and address their own needs independently. By meeting sensory and emotional needs, these tools can reduce disruptive behaviors, creating a more focused and productive learning environment. This approach fosters inclusivity, ensuring that all students, regardless of their individual challenges, feel supported and have the opportunity to thrive.
Reading and writing tools are designed to support early literacy development, especially in young children. Reading strips help with word tracking while reading, providing visual guidance to improve focus and fluency. Pencil grips assist with proper pencil grasp, promoting comfort and legibility while writing. Similar tools contribute to enhancing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, which are essential for successful reading and writing.
When the tools and strategies show success, teachers can incorporate these resources into their own classrooms, fostering a more inclusive and supportive learning environment. This initiative ensures all students, regardless of eligibility for specialized services, have the opportunity to thrive.
