My Project

I teach math to about 180 middle schoolers (grades 6-8), many of whom see math as just calculations to perform and worksheets to complete. While procedural fluency is a significant part of success in math, there's also so much more!

The beauty of pattern-finding, importance of critical thinking, discipline in detail-focused work, and more are gems about math that I want my students to notice and appreciate as well.

Please help me provide a more enriched experience for my mathematicians by adding fun, engaging activities and games to our learning environment. I'm excited to see students work socialize with one another, smile, and laugh while calculating how likely it is that they can roll a Full House (Yahtzee), develop financial literacy when trying to budget for a car (Life), and race to identify patterns (Set). The additional stickers, folders, and activity books I've also included in this project will further allow me to cultivate a playful and deep learning environment for my students.

My goal is to engage all students in a joyful, meaningful math learning experience. Thank you for considering supporting me to this end and bringing games to my middle school math classroom!
