My Project

I would love to expose my wonderful 2nd and 3rd grade students to the experience of growing their own food indoors with a hydroponic growing system. We have attempted to grow plants in our classroom in the past with little success and would love a growing system that provides the correct amount of light to successfully grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and plants.

This hydroponic growing system would truly bring to life all that we are learning about the lifecycle of plants this year!

This amazing teaching resource will allow us to grow fresh fruits and vegetables year-round, unaffected by weather, and facilitate sustainable agriculture.

Researchers at St. Louis University found that children were twice as likely to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables per day when the produce was home grown. Through the experience provided with this growing system, we project our students will be more likely to want to eat more fruits and vegetables in their everyday lives because they will have had a vested interest in the process of growing them.

Thank you for helping us show our young, curious elementary students how to garden indoors and cultivate a love for fresh, healthy food at the same time!
