My Project

I have several brilliant young readers in my classroom who are asking for more books that are interesting and engaging to them personally. They have presented me with a wish list and I am bringing that list to you. Please partner together with me to provide these much-needed books.

These young readers are in the process of trying to develop strong reading stamina, and having books that interest them personally is essential to developing the skill of reading all the way through and finishing books.

These books will be used during read-to-self time. We have a reading log and a small reward system that helps motivate the process. When each reader has completed 10 books, they are celebrated by the class and their work is posted in the hallway. They also have the privilege of choosing a small prize from our "tiny prize box" which they absolutely love.
