Help me bring the power of bibliotherapy to my 5th-grade students through three carefully selected books that allow them to see themselves and their peers in the stories they read. Good Different, How to Find What You’re Not Looking For, and The Gray offer characters facing real challenges like neurodivergence, prejudice, antisemitism, and anxiety. These books will not only help students navigate their own emotions and struggles but also build compassion among classmates by letting them learn from the experiences of others.
Bibliotherapy—the process of healing and learning through reading—can be a transformative tool, especially for 5th graders who are at a critical age for personal growth and understanding.
Students at this age learn so much through stories, developing empathy, resilience, and a deeper understanding of the world. By connecting with characters who are dealing with similar challenges, students can feel less isolated and more confident in their own journeys.
These books will be used in our literature circles to spark meaningful conversations, help students explore their identities, and foster a sense of belonging. Your donation will ensure that every student benefits from this powerful learning experience. Thank you for helping shape their hearts and minds through literature!"
