Help me give my students a Sunspotter Telescope! A Sunspotter telescope uses lenses and mirrors to project an image of the sun. With the increased solar activity, now is an exciting time to watch the sun.

My Project
In science education, experiential learning plays a pivotal role in fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. With the current increase in solar activity, now is the best time to observe our nearest star. A Sunspotter telescope is designed to safely observe the sun's surface and offers elementary students a unique opportunity to understand the dynamic nature of our nearest star. By witnessing sunspots, students can understand the sun's power and activity. Watching the image move from one side of the paper "screen" to the other students can witness in real time that our planet is rotating causing day and night.
A Sunspotter Telescope can foster a love of astronomy and inspire future scientists.
The sun plays a critical role in numerous processes my students study. Whether the sun is powering the water cycle, creating the wind that alters our landscape or pushes air masses around causing weather it is a constant presence. Having a connection to our star through observation and experience helps to make science real. Carl Sagan said it best "we are made of star stuff."
