My Project
To make our outdoor space more green, we will be using the soil to build up 5 existing garden beds. The low quality soil purchased in previous years did not allow any plants to flourish. This year, we hope to grow flowers and vegetables. Students will research and choose which items to plant depending on the season, and then will tend to those plants all year.
To make our classroom a more gentle and joyful space, I will be adding time-honored board games to our activities cabinet and incorporating a transformational jigsaw puzzle area.
The adjustable puzzle board allows us to move puzzles, even while in progress, and make use of the table for group work. The light covers will dim the harshness of the existing fluorescent lights, making the overall atmosphere in the room more warm and gentle.
