Who doesn't appreciate silence when trying to concentrate? In crowded classrooms, it is often difficult for students to block out ambient sounds, or collaborating student voices, while trying to think deeply and focus on a task. I have a couple of noise cancelling headphones that are in high demand in my classroom. I would like to be able to have more to meet my students needs/desire for deeper focus.
Noise blocking dividers would benefit students who have sensory issues or do not want headphones covering their ears.
They would also be invaluable to students who have voice to text accommodations when writing. The barrier would provide them with sound buffering privacy that would make them them feel less self-conscious and far more likely to use their accommodation in class.
