Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students work extremely hard all week. They deserve a fun thirty to forty-five minute break every Friday which we call Friday Fun Days. However, I do not have games for my students to have fun with while using their mental skills. I am asking for both fun games for the enjoyment of it and fun games where my students will be learning multiplication facts and practicing their skills.
I believe my students will build their math fluency facts, adding to their strategies learned while learning from one another and having fun with the multiplication games.
I also believe by playing these games with their peers weekly, they will acquire great socialization skills because they will have to talk to one another while playing. I will also rotate groups, so kids play with everyone in class. Social-emotional learning Play helps children learn to share with their peers, deal with conflict, build empathy skills, gain self-confidence, and understand one another. These are important life-long skills that will help them now and in the future.
