For the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, I want my students to feel successful with their reading skills and to eventually become proficient readers. I know The Science of Reading Decodable Readers are a great resource to support my students during small group interventions or just for them to read independently.
More intentional reading is the goal.
After teaching a phonics lesson, I want my students to be able to go to the reading corner and find a book they not only enjoy but also one that supports the skill we are working on. With that in mind, I included some additional decodable books that I want to include in our classroom library so that they have access to books that foster the development of their phonological decoding skills. The goal is to put color coded labels on the books so that kids can also make intentional choices on the books they can read independently at their own grade level.
