My Project

My students need opportunities to foster creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through open-ended STEM construction activities.

Through the use of LEGO Chain Reactions kits, magnetic marble runs, and DIY marble run supplies, students are encouraged to explore the principles of engineering and physics while constructing and experimenting with their creations.

By providing a diverse array of hands-on STEM materials, this project aims to transform the learning experience for fifth-grade students by:

* Implementing LEGO Chain Reaction Kits to introduce engineering concepts and encourage experimentation.

* Utilizing magnetic marble runs to demonstrate principles of physics in an interactive and engaging manner.

* Supplying DIY marble run materials to prompt student-led construction and problem-solving.

* Offering small wood blocks and cardstock for open-ended building challenges, fostering spatial reasoning and critical thinking skills in a creative environment.

These hands-on experiences play a crucial role in developing spatial reasoning, fine motor skills, and the ability to think critically and adapt designs based on real-time outcomes. Through these specific tools and activities, this project seeks to not only enhance students' understanding of scientific and engineering principles but also to encourage curiosity, collaboration, and innovation within the realm of STEM education.
