My Project

In our preschool special day class, our students love creative sensory play and participating in art projects. Your donation toward art and sensory play supplies for our classroom will help enable us to offer both sensory play and art activites for our students each day during our small group centers. Supplies for this project include basics such as playdough, easy to use tempra paint sticks, crayons, dot markers and paper.

Sensory play and art activities provide a fun way for students to explore materials and be creative while developing fine motor dexterity, communication, and pre-academic skills.

Through their participation, students build their ability to complete activities in class. Sensory play with playdough and kinetic sand offer a wide range of learning opportunities and can be a calming, helping our students to better focus throughout the day. Art activities allow our students to communicate choices, work on pre-writing skills and pre-academic concepts such as shapes and colors.

The most exciting thing about these fun class activiites is for us to we see each student's pride in their completed projects and increasing skills during the school year!
