My Project

Please help to provide some high interest reading for my students. The saying that books are windows, mirrors and sliding doors is absolutely true. Unfortunately, there are many reluctant readers in this world who will never experience the enrichment books can bring to their lives simply because the thought of reading is overwhelming.

Not every middle school student is reading at grade level, and my goal is to supply my lower readers with engaging literature in order to entice them to read!

My project includes a number of graphic novels that include characters to whom my students will relate. For instance, Truly Tyler is about a middle school boy who struggles with balancing his studies, sports and friendships.

All kids have issues in their lives that cause anxiety. These books will show my students that life has challenges, but it is how we face and deal with these challenges that matter.
