This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting multiple of the same-titled fictional historic books for our book clubs. I usually have a class of at least 30 students and we need multiple copies for book clubs.

Students read the same book together in partnerships and have independent meetings where they talk about different aspects of the book they are reading for their book club.

For example, I use Mosiac of Thought as a teacher's professional book as a guide in which kids take on the roles of summarizer, word finder, connector, etc., so each student has a specific role and has something important to contribute to their group during their book club meetings.
