My Project

I'm fortunate to teach an exceptional group of students who inspire me daily with their desire to connect to others. Our project, an Empathy Museum on campus, draws from the philosophies of Roman Krznaric, focusing on empathy's significance in our interconnected world.

Empathy, I firmly believe, is a crucial skill that bridges gaps in understanding, builds bridges, and nurtures compassion.

The resources I'm requesting are instrumental in bringing this vision to life. We need shoe boxes, headphones, and recorders to create our exhibit "A Mile in My Shoes,” which is a unique and immersive experience where visitors are invited to literally walk a mile in someone else's shoes while listening to their personal stories. By providing these resources, we can explore various facets of the human experience, from moments of loss and grief to those brimming with hope and love.

We need white paper for our traveling library. This library houses books donated by individuals who cherish them and believe others will too. What sets our library apart is that visitors select books solely based on dedications, with the authors, titles, and covers concealed. Once read, these books are then passed on, creating a sense of connection and shared experiences within our community.

The button maker is for our Human Library, a concept that allows visitors to "borrow" a person for conversation - a Living Book. This innovative approach encourages meaningful dialogues and presents an opportunity for individuals to challenge preconceived notions, fostering understanding and empathy.

Blank books are needed for students to write and share their own stories, particularly those related to their experiences during the COVID-19. Empathy is an essential quality that our students, as future leaders and global citizens, should cultivate. I’m deeply grateful for your consideration to the growth and understanding of our future generations.
