Little Painters at Work

Help me give my students a Painting Center that will be used during recess where almost 200 students (Transitional Kindergarteners, Kindergarteners and Special Day Classes) can use their imagination and creativity to create masterpieces.

My Project

My Kindergarten classroom is a hub of creativity and inclusivity. Within this diverse group of young learners, there are English Language Learners and students with a range of disabilities, including Autism, Speech and Language Impairments, and Other Health Impairments.

Kindergarten is a crucial time in honing fine motor skills, refining hand-eye coordination, and fostering language expression.

A Painting Center during recess is an exciting opportunity for our students (Transitional Kindergarteners, Kindergarteners, and a Special Day Class) to enhance their fine motor skills as they grip brushes and squeeze paints, but also it would facilitate learning about colors, shapes, and different painting techniques. Furthermore, it would encourage oral language development as they share their artwork with classmates and family members. Beyond that, it would build self-confidence, independence, nurture their creativity, support building nerve connections in the brain and so much more.
