My Project

My students are some of the most incredible, hardworking people I know. They have all dealt with trauma and many are still dealing with it every day. These students attend a Title I, low income, high needs school and for many it is their safe place. I’m looking to give my students a place where they can relax, move and help their brains focus however possible. Flexible seating will allow for students to expend their energy and optimize their learning!

Even as adults, sitting in a hard chair at a desk is challenging; Children aren’t meant to do that for hours on end!

Flexible seating allows students to do things that traditional chairs don’t - wobble, rock, bounce, and more! These types of movement in the classroom allow for an increased level of oxygen flow to the brain. This keeps them more alert and focused, which is a benefit to all!

The floor desks will allow students to move around the classroom to a spot where they learn best. The exercise balls allow them to quietly bounce and wiggle while working. The seat cushions will provide an additional option for sensory seeking students. The clipboards allow for students to take their work where they can be most successful.
