My Project

My students are an amazing bunch of eager learners. Many of the sports I introduce in class inspire my students to go out for that same sport outside of school. The ability to expose my students to new and fun sports has led to an entire movement of students expanding their athletic skill set. In addition, it also encourages students with little to no athletic background to try something out of their comfort zone. The end result is a highly motivated class full of excited learners willing to try something new.

We recently introduced the sport of lacrosse to our students.

It was an immediate success. They were eager to learn how to scoop, cradle, throw, and catch with the equipment.

Unfortunately, our current lacrosse sticks are all plastic baskets that make it hard to handle the lacrosse ball. In addition, many of our sticks are broken because they lack the strength and flexibility to accommodate everyday use. With stringed lacrosse sticks, we will be able to provide an authentic look into the game with easier catching and cradling ability. The quality of the sticks will allow us to introduce the game to multiple classes for a long time.
