My kindergarten students are such active learners. They love any type of hands-on learning. Learning centers are a great way for them to be engaged while working on math and reading skills.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they are learning through play with giant foam dice, magnetic number tiles, word building center, and more.
When doing centers with partners, they are working on not only academic skills but also social skills. They learn to take turns and help others when they need it.
Learning centers are something that I feel we moved away from in the last few years but are something that needs to be reintroduced into primary grade levels. This is a great opportunity for students to be engaged in learning and have fun too!
