My Project

I teach middle school mathematics to awesome students! Our classroom runs using an economy system. Students are provided with all needed materials at the beginning of the school year. They receive monthly pay for attendance, grades, growth on diagnostic testing, behavior, etc. They are required to pay monthly rent, phone and utility bills.

Students receive a checkbook and must balance it at the beginning of each month after they receive their paycheck and pay all bills and fines.

At the end of each quarter we hold an auction where students may use discretionary funds to bid on auction items. This approach provides motivation and rewards for the students.
