My Project

Utilizing a DJ Controller and speakers will provide students with an opportunity to explore a unique aspect of music. They will gain knowledge about BPMs (beats per minute) and will have the chance to curate their own playlists inspired by their feelings, emotions, specific genres, or themes. This activity will enable them to articulate their thoughts and feelings while sharing the sources of their inspiration. While learning to operate the DJ controller, students will enhance their memory and engage both hemispheres of the brain, which will aid in their concentration and learning. This approach aims to foster greater engagement in other subjects and boost overall student productivity.

Additionally, the DJ controller will be incorporated into our school-wide PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) program, where students can earn points for exhibiting positive behaviors such as kindness, a commitment to learning, respect, responsibility, and safety.

By contributing to this initiative, you will not only support students in their social-emotional development, but you will also aid in reducing student conflicts.

Students can discover new methods for resolving their conflicts that differ from their usual approaches. Studies have shown that music can enhance emotional well-being and alleviate stress. By helping students boost their mood and maintain composure, we can facilitate smoother transitions between classes. Furthermore, this approach can reduce conflicts among students during transition times, instructional periods, recess, and meal times. It also contributes to the development of positive traits in my students.

Additionally, this project aims to educate students about the possibility of pursuing a career in music. The long-term objective is to provide students who are uncertain about their future with an alternative path they can aspire to as a career.
