This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach all core subjects plus an elective to a self-contained autism core curriculum class. I teach sixth grade English, Math, World History, Science, and Social Communication. My students are with me for 5/6 periods of the school day. We are only separated during their physical education class. Therefore, there are a lot of everyday classroom essentials being requested. There are a couple of sensory items for students who struggle regulating their behaviors when upset. I added a lot of items to enrich the learning experience of my students while giving them an opportunity to have a deeper comprehension of the curriculum.
