My Project
I teach a wonderful group of 4 and 5 year old Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students from a small community in the Bay Area. This is such a magical age and I love seeing how excited my students are to learn & play every day! They are full of curiosity and are so eager to soak up as much as they can. It is a gift to be part of their first experience in elementary school.
While academics are an important part of school, children this age do a lot of their learning through play.
This is the first year our school has had a TK class, which is a wonderful opportunity for these kids, but also means we are lacking in quality play materials and need to build up a selection of open ended toys that encourage our TK students to use their imaginations & foster learning through play. The materials I've selected through Lakeshore would do exactly that! I know my students would love them and that we'd take great care of them so future TK classes can enjoy them as well.
