My Project
Our Drama students commit countless extra hours to working on our school productions. Both the performers and the stage crew take such pride and ownership of our work, and it's inspiring to see them create together. Our productions are all student designed and produced through our Stagecraft class.
The microphones will allow the students working in the sound crew to properly learn how to mix live sound for performance.
This will help us meet many of our Essential Standards for Drama, specifically, to imagine and explore solutions to design challenges of a performance space in a drama/theatre work.
The performers will be able to learn and develop proper vocal technique and resist the tendency to strain their young, developing voices to be heard over the poor acoustics in our Multi-Purpose room.
While learning these skills will certainly set them up for future successes as technicians and performers, the social/emotional benefits are also significant. The experience of coming together as an ensemble to create something personal and real gives students a sense of purpose and belonging. These opportunities grow confidence and form lasting bonds with their cast and crew. Thank you for considering our application.
