My Project
As a mandarin cohort, our learners have been learning the Chinese language and traditions since kindergarten. This year, please help us by providing them the opportunity to experience Hands-on Cultural Enrichment Activities that are related to the Chinese culture.
We will be making cool embroidery with needles and thread and try out Gong Fu Tea Ceremony in small groups.
The gong fu tea ceremony or kung fu tea ceremony is a type of Chinese tea ceremony, involving the ritual preparation and presentation of tea. The approach often involves using smaller brewing vessels and a higher leaf-to-water ratio than in western-style brewing. We will try to mimic the ceremony in small groups.
Chinese embroidery refers to embroidery created by any of the cultures located in the area that makes up modern China. It is some of the oldest extant needlework. We will do simple Chinese Character Embroidery first and work up from there using the Cricut tool to provide character and/or art template.
