Getting back on track after Covid and Distance Learning has presented some hurdles with my kiddos - they forgot reading & learning can be fun! My goal with this project is to meet more of my students where they're at in their reading journey by providing some high interest books that are less challenging for my struggling readers as well as some fun that won't feel like learning!
Who doesn't love a competition - especially if it's against your best buds!
Wordicle will allow my students to work in groups of 4 to challenge and encourage each other to practice spelling patterns. They will learn new vocabulary terms and build on the terms they already know. Points are power and so is knowledge! This will take some of the hum drum out of practicing and applying all those pesky spelling rules that are so needed for a solid reading foundation.
