Curating Math Minds in Middle Schoolers

My Project

I work with an amazing group of students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. My students all want to do their best in school, but often struggle with vague and abstract concepts. They learn best through hands on lessons and hands on examples. These activities will help them develop problem solving skills and help them see what those abstract concepts mean.

Students really do learn more, when they can experience for themselves, what you are talking about.

I am excited to see my students be able to create a project based upon the picture cards provided with the Brain Builders or the Color Cubes activities. I am also anxious to see them truly understand fractions with the Pizza fraction activity and the Building Fractions project. It is amazing how these simple hands on tools can open their minds to so many new concepts.
