Our school is phenomenal. We have a focus on STEM and the design cycle, and we are in this amazing transition phase of moving from a small, traditional school to a high-tech, problem-solving, student-centered learning space. Students love coming to school because they are engaged, involved, and participating like crazy!
Students at our school have many needs.
A large minority have free and reduced-price lunch status, about a third do not have access to technology from home, and many are experienced in trauma and learning disabilities. The staff is amazing, though, and they do what it takes to make sure everyone can learn!
My Project
In Language Arts, we use Interactive Notebooks to house EVERYTHING. We journal, tape in resource pages, interact with our notes, and so much more to chronicle our learning throughout the year! Students can then take their notebooks with them through the rest of their middle and high school years to remember everything they've learned and use it as a great resource!
These notebooks are crucial to the learning and success of our students.
We need the notebooks, double-sided tape to attach learning resources, and sticky notes for collaboration and information/research. The kids are so excited about the possibility of having this project funded so their families don't have to be financially responsible for this valuable resource! It's important that they all have access to this tool in my classroom!
