Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year a cast of 60 third, fourth and fifth graders will be performing in the musical, Finding Nemo Kids! They have been learning their lines, choreography and blocking with a passion and enthusiasm for theater. The materials on this list will help bring our show to life with costumes, materials to make puppets, and materials to help build our set.

My students are so excited to share their passion for theater with the rest of our school, and I know they will walk on stage confidently when dressed in their costumes.

Not only will the 60 students in the cast benefit from these materials, but our entire school and community will get to benefit as an audience. For many, this will be their first experience of live theater. My goal is for every member of our audience to leave our show with a new found appreciation for the arts and the desire to join our production next year!

I love theater and find so much joy in sharing it with my young students. The musical at our school has become a community event that is looked forward to year after year. Although we are a title one school in a low socioeconomic community, I have never let it stop me in making our show the best it can be. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me bring the gift of live theater to our wonderful school community.
