My Students

My students have come from many different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and the United States. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.

At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and 92% of the students are students of color.

The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language. These students have the capacity to achieve greatness.

My Project

My students are enraptured by STEM activities which allow them to learn science, technology, engineering and math. We use a lot on engineering projects and strategy-building games during school. Now we need to expand this learning to our homework. My students have so much passion for learning and for creating, and we need more opportunities to expand our perspectives and our creativity. These science kits are just the ticket.

Every week, one student will bring home one of these awesome science kits to experiment with their families as homework.

They will write a short summary of their experiment and share it with the class. By having more access to a variety of science-focused activities at home, my students will develop their creativity and critical thinking skills.

These science kits will give my students an incredible opportunity to practice science with their families. With these activities, we will continue to develop our scientific minds and build a stronger community. Thank you for considering our project!
