My Students

Our everchaning earth is the lost planet of the solar system. The hands-on labs we offer in our 5th grade classroom for geology will set a "rock solid" foundation for the problems our future generation will be facing when taking care of the planet we currently nurture. Earth Rocks!!

My students are curious and intelligent children who revel in the Scientific Method.

I have a variety of demographics and learning styles in my class and use science labs to support our curriculum to the fullest. Economic and social differences are varied including multi-generational Spanish speaking, anglo-saxon, and Marshallese students. I teach in a moderately affluent school with a variety of learning experiences from my students. I teach in Arkansas. Thank you for considering my application request.

My Project

Getting your "hands dirty" must be a an age-old saying that has stood the test of time. Classroom science labs support the joy and inspiration through the discovery of questions answered and more questions ahead. With my project proposal, my students will be able to do just that....question, discover, observe, and explore. My students will use these materials to learn the secrets to our Earth's various geological cycles. As students use these materials, examples from our amazing planets will be brought to the classroom on a smaller scale to eventually support the bigger scale impact on our future. Students' knowledge gained about the physical and geological sciences will prove beneficial.

Technology and passive activity surround the many children educated in our country today.

I wish to inspire more curiosity for the world that surrounds us. Whether it be admiring the beauty of the clouds or the intricate pattern in an insect's wing. The joy of science and the natural world around us is a dwindling passion. I hope to instill the desire to see our earth through a lens of amazement leading to endless possibilities.
