My Students

I am a very lucky teacher who is fortunate to teach instrumental music at two schools in this district. All of my students are very eager and enthusiastic!

Throughout the year we work on note reading, math skills, fine motor skills, listening skills, composition, working together, following directions, being creative, and having a ton of fun!

We have learning disabled students, behavioral students, and mainstreamed students who all come to music class. This is a creative outlet that is incredibly important for every human being.

My Project

My fourth and fifth grade instrumental music students are amazing. They have the option to play many different instruments within the band and orchestra. We are in need of one essential item, tuners!

We can learn to play all the music in the world, but it will never sound good if we are not in tune!

For example, when playing in the orchestra group if twenty violins are playing a D that is out of tune, it would sound like fingers running down a chalkboard.

If fifteen flutes play a Bb that is out of tune, it might sound like a fire alarm going off.

In order to be successful at playing our instruments and learning to hear the correct pitches, we need to be in tune to accomplish this.
